METRO 3mm Plank Series Installation
- Permanent Glue Method Only: Product can be glued down permanently with Roberts 2350 adhesive or Mapei 810.
Caution: METRO SERIES Luxury Vinyl plank flooring is not suitable for installation over carpet, radiant heat, or locations where harsh chemicals or staining could occur i.e. hair saons. Remove all old flooring prior to installation.
PREPARATION
The material must be allowed to acclimatize at room temperature (approx. 20 ˚C) for 48 hours prior to installation. New concrete floors need to dry at least 60 days prior to installation. Make sure the floor is smooth, clean, and free of wax, grease, oil or dust. Fill any cracks, pits, joints with a proper leveling compound. Secure any loose subfloor boards.
These are recommended guidelines only as each site condition will be different. CDM Distribution Inc. defers to the installation professionals to evaluate all site conditions before proceeding
Permanent Glue Method Only: product to be glued down permanently using wet set adhesive such as a Mapei 810 or Roberts 2350.
Identify that the production lot of planks are all the same (found on side of box). Inspect flooring prior to installation. Do not install damaged flooring. Maintain site room temperature (18-22◦C). The material must be allowed to acclimatize at room temperature (approx. 20 ˚C) for 48 hours prior to installation. Substrate moisture content must not exceed 8% ensure installer checks prior to installation.
COMPLETELY REMOVE ANY EXISTING FLOORING AND ADHESIVES PRIOR TO INSTALL. USE ONLY RECOMMENDED ADHESIVE – MIX WELL.
Evenly apply an adequate amount of the specified adhesive on a small area. Do not attempt to apply adhesive on a larger area at once or adhesive may harden. Install planks in the same direction to the arrow mark on the back maintain stability. Begin laying your floor tight along the longest wall. Lay a complete row of planks and cut the last one to fit against the opposite wall. The cut edge should always face the wall. When you reach the last row, cut the last plank to fit tight. The plank should not be forced into place. For best visual effect, always stagger the planks from row to row. Do not kneel on installed flooring to avoid gapping as you work. Immediately remove adhesive on the product surface (follow adhesive guidelines)
After Installation:
Allow 24 hours before walking on and 48 hours before adding furniture to allow the adhesive time to cure.
Do not drag of move a heavy object over the newly installed flooring or planks may become loose or gapping may occur.
Do not expose newly installed flooring to direct sunlight immediately after installation for 1 day.
MAINTENANCE
By following the precautions below, our strong polyurethane wear layer coating will protect your floor for many years.
Use plastic, glass or other non-staining cups or padding under surfaces legs of heavy appliances and furniture. Use proper floor protectors on all chairs. Remove all small diameter buttons from legs of straight chairs and replace with medal glides no smaller than 1” in diameter. Examine your protectors periodically, check for burrs, debris or wear ensuring the surface is smooth. Do not drag furniture across your floor! Avoid rolling type caster chairs if possible. If not, make sure the rollers are the double type wheels at least 2” in diameter or have castor protectors. These precautions will prevent scratches and indentations from appearing on your floor.
Do not expose floor to frequent standing water and wipe up all spills quickly. Watch for tracked in dirt and grit particles. Use walk off mats at all room entrances. Do not use rubber or latex back mats. Certain chemicals in backing can stain vinyl. Use non-staining vinyl mats or woven rugs that are colorfast. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight for prolong periods. The use of drapes and blinds are recommended. Direct sunlight over long period of time can cause discoloration.
No finishes are needed. Our flooring has a strong permanent polyurethane finish. Do not use any type of harsh detergent or solvents like lacquer thinner, abrasive cleaners, which can leave a film. Avoid vinegar as a cleaning agent. Use pH neutral cleaners that are recommended for vinyl. Do not use vacuums with beater bars.
Commercial Maintenance: Follow same recommendations as above.

RESIDENTIAL WARRANTY
15 YEAR RESIDENTIAL LIMITED WARRANTY
Our 15 year Residential Limited Warranty for METRO Luxury Vinyl plank means that that for fifteen (15) years your floor will be free from manufacturing defects and will not wear through or permanently stain from common household products when installed and maintained in accordance to manufacturer instructions (supplied with each product carton). This guarantee applies only to the original purchaser and proof of purchase is required for all claims. The guarantee is for replacement or refund of the vinyl planks only and does not include labour or installation materials (i.e. glues, subfloors, tape, etc.). Claims for wear must show a minimum dime size area. High heel shoes, rolling carts, furniture and chairs without protective pads can damage the floor and are not covered by this warranty. If you wish to file a claim under warranty, please contact the authorized dealer where the flooring was purchased.
COMMERICAL WARRANTY
10 YEAR LIMITED COMMERCIAL WARRANTY
Our 10 Year Limited Commercial Warranty for METRO Luxury plank means that for ten (10) years, from the date of product purchase, your floor will be free from manufacturing defects and will not wear through when installed and maintained in accordance to manufacturer instructions (supplied with each product carton). The guarantee is for replacement or refund of the vinyl planks only and does not include labour or installation materials (i.e. glues, subfloors, tape, etc.). Claims for wear must show a minimum dime size area. High heel shoes, rolling carts, furniture and chairs without protective pads can damage the floor and are not covered by this warranty. If you wish to file a claim under warranty, please contact the authorized dealer where the flooring was purchased.
- Dissatisfaction due to improper installation, maintenance, or irregularities caused by subfloor or existing floor.
- Reduction in gloss due to normal use.
- Damages due to stains, burns, cuts, scratches, indentations and other accidents or abuse.
- Problems or damages due to moisture, fungus, alkali or hydrostatic pressure in subfloor.
- Color shade variations from samples or printed illustrations compared to actual product.
- Installation of flooring over improper material: e.g. particleboard, chip wood, press board
- Installation in temperature ranges other than those in accordance with instruction.
- Gapping due to improper installation, adhesive selection or adhesive shrinkage.
We will not pay labor costs to repair or replace material with defects that were apparent before or at the time of installation. Inspection by an authorized representative may be necessary to verify the manufacturing defect exists, or you may be requested to submit ship samples of defective material to CDM Distribution Inc. If replacement is needed in accordance with this warranty and the defective material or pattern has been discontinued, CDM Distribution Inc. reserves the right to select and supply similar CDM Distribution Inc. replacement material. If a manufacturing defect is found, CDM Distribution Inc. should be notified promptly
